Volunteer Blood Donor Month Proclaimed In Maine
Governor John Baldacci Signs 2009 Declaration

Surrounded by American Red Cross and Dunkin' Donuts representatives, Governor John Baldacci signed a proclamation declaring January 2009 as Volunteer Blood Donor Month in Maine.
January has been named as National Volunteer Blood Donor Month by every U.S. president since 1970. It is a time to recognize the valuable contributions by the thousands of Silent Heroes who help save lives each and every day through the generous act of giving blood.
In response to Volunteer Blood Donor Month, Dunkin' Donuts has once again generously donated a pound of coffee for every presenting donor at Red Cross blood drives throughout the entire northeastern United States during the month of January. This contribution is a thank you to those who help keep our community blood supplies plentiful throughout the year.
