The American Red Cross Blood Services went to the dogs in Maine on May 21 - the Portland Sea Dogs, that is! Red Cross representatives were on hand at the game against rival Manchester, New Hampshire Fisher Cats to give out information about the Portland Red Cross Donor Center and the upcoming Sea Dogs blood drive.
Slugger, the Sea Dogs mascot, was sporting the most recent Red Cross/Red Sox t-shirt and our own Buddy Blood Drop threw out the first pitch.
The need for blood was advertised on the ballpark marquee in center field throughout the game, encouraging fans to help strike out summer blood shortages.
Please join us at the ballpark on Friday, June 19 when the Portland Sea Dogs host a Red Cross blood drive. Our Red Cross Donor Coach will be there from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thank you, Sea Dogs, for going to bat for patients in need this summer!
