Massachusetts State Employee Blood Donor Program
Founded In 1969

The Massachuetts State Employees Blood Program was organized in 1969 by concerned state employees who recognized their role in helping to meet the daily need for a sufficient blood supply. The MSEBP encourages all eligible state employees to participate by volunteering to donate blood on a regular basis.
In recognition of the lifesaving contributions made Massachusetts state employees, an awards program has been established based on the number of years a state employee has been involved in the program.
The awards are:
One Year ~ Invitation to the Annual Donor Recognition Luncheon*
Five Years ~ Certificate
Ten Years ~ Plaque
Fifteen Years ~ Framed Caricature
Twenty Years ~ Clock
Twenty Five Years ~ Paul Revere Bowl
Thirty Years ~ Watch
* Any Massachusetts State Employee who gives 5 times a year or more is also invited to the recognition luncheon held in November. Qualifying blood donations can be a combination of donations between American Red Cross, Mass General and UMass Medical Center.
The MSEBP’s donation year is from October 1 to September 30 and years of participation must be consecutive.
If you are interested in finding out more about the program and how to sign up for it, please contact Pam Leach at leachpa@usa.redcross.org.
