Dedham, Massachusetts

Dedham is an historic suburban industrial town located 15 miles southwest of downtown Boston. It is the site of the earliest surviving framed house in New England, the handsome 1637 Fairbanks House. The 10.7-square-mile community received its grant as a town from the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1636, placing it among the oldest communities in the state.
The town shows a rich and diverse architectural face to the world, with its monumental granite court house of Greek Revival design, its Victorian prison, its limestone Neoclassical Registry of Deeds, Romanesque Revival public library and Renaissance and Georgian Revival schools. In addition, Dedham has a remarkably well preserved town center, with many handsome, historic houses of which the community is very proud.

Springfield, Massachusetts
Some have called Springfield "the city in the country," and it is an apt description. The financial and commercial center of Western Massachusetts, Springfield began as a trading post - literally, a pleasant place on the riverbank to conduct business. And more than three centuries later, Greater Springfield remains just that - a pleasant place by the Connecticut River to conduct meetings, conventions, and other business. The Springfield Civic Center is poised for renovation and a new convention center is planned downtown. Springfield Symphony Hall provides seating for 2,600 people for concerts, lectures and special performances. Across the Connecticut River in West Springfield, the Eastern States Exposition hosts events year-round. Offering 310,000 square feet of show space, this expansive multi-service facility is home to everything from major juried craft shows to lavish homebuilding extravaganzas. The largest show of all happens each September when the grounds host The Big E, "The Great New England Fall Festival," attracting over one million visitors.
