Positive I.D. To Be Required
We POSITIVELY need you!
Positive identification is now being required in order to donate blood.
The American Red Cross is required by law to maintain accurate donor records. Blood donors are identified in our records by a combination of name, social security number and/or date of birth. It is extremely important that an accurate record be created for each donor, then verified each time that person gives blood. There may be times when it is necessary to locate a unit of blood and the donor who gave it. Accurate records created through proper identification will help quickly locate the blood donor and track the unit.
